The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) is one of our regulated qualifications and is awarded by City & Guilds. This qualification is for practitioners working in or looking to work in assessment and will help you to progress your career as a trainer and a qualified assessor.
This qualification and course will teach you to;
- Understanding the principles and practices of assessment.
- Assess occupational competence in the work environment.
- Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding.
You will be asked to attend three days of classroom sessions at our ELS offices in Harwell, Oxfordshire. Remote delivery and support is also available if required.
There is a short assessment at the end of the three days of classroom sessions.
You will be provided with a trainer and assessor who will guide you through your qualification and help you put your portfolio together.
You will build a portfolio of evidence using a variety of evidence i.e. observations, question and answer sessions, witness testimonies, etc.
Your assessor will check the assessment decisions you make and second mark your work.
You will be provided with an internal quality assurer (IQA) who will check the quality of your work and ensure that assessment judgements made on your own work by the ELS assessor are fair and consistent.
You will have progress reviews with your assessor to help keep you on track.
This qualification is worth 15 credits and has a Guided Learning Hours (GLH) of 84 hours.
