Systems approach to training

The Systems Approach to Training (SAT) is a methodology for analysis, design and development, delivery and evaluation of training programs. It is an orderly; logical approach to determining what individuals and teams must know and do for a particular role, job or in a specific profession. The systems approach to training ensures that learners gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to do their job. (adapted from Dr. Shiv Dhawan)

At ELS, SAT begins with identifying people’s work related needs. It ensures that the training need is analysed, training solutions are designed and developed, and the training is delivered in the most optimal way; the learners learn what is important and are competent to be assigned work as individuals or as part of a team. Through constant evaluation of the training process, SAT ensures that the training delivered meets the needs of the learners and provides the organisation with a return on their investment.
